Fast, High Volume Scanning
The DR-5060F has a wealth of features ideally suited for heavy-duty scanning,
starting with a feed tray that accepts up to 500 LTR/A4-size sheets. Scanning is
efficiently carried out at speeds of up to 100 pages per minute.* Simplex and
duplex scanning are both supported, and image files can be produced in either
two forms of binary (Text or Photo) or three levels of grayscale (up to
256-level).

Reliable Document Feeding
Not only does the DR-5060F accept a wide range of
paper types, but it handles them with a superior degree of accuracy as well.
Acceptable document sizes range from business cards to 11" x
17"/A3-size papers, and the unit’s Dynamic Thickness Adjustment ensures
smooth feeding of various paper types-even when they are mixed in the same
stack. As an added plus, the DR-5060F comes equipped with double feed
detection to ensure that no documents are missed during the scanning
procedure.

User-Friendly Control Panel
Another of the unit’s major advantages is that it
is extremely easy to operate, thanks to a built-in control panel. The panel
lets you make settings directly through the scanner itself-without using the
driver software—and start scanning. The panel includes keys for Text/Photo
mode selection, brightness adjustment, file separation, page counting, and
more. Additional functions can be assigned to each of the six available
Function Keys, for one-touch access by any user prior to scanning. And, if a
problem should occur, an error code is helpfully displayed.

Versatile Scanning Functions
The DR-5060F has numerous features that optimize scanner performance with
diverse document stacks. The Auto feeding setting, for example, starts the
scanner the moment documents are placed on its feed tray. The DR-5060F can also
be set to automatically detect the size of the document, and produce image data
with the correct proportions. Other functions, such as red color dropout and
automatic file name creation, are also included.

|
High Quality Microfilm Images |
| When it comes to long-term document archiving, microfilm is the most
reliable storage media available. The DR-5060F best serves your use of this
media by incorporating the finest in
Canon
microfilming technology, which
produces exceptionally clear and high-contrast images. The DR-5060F can be
used to perform either backup microfilming of scanned documents or
microfilming alone. |
 |
|
Two Camera Unit Options
The DR-5060F offers two camera options, the 57X Camera Unit for duplex
filming and the 24X Camera Unit for simplex filming. Preparation of either one
is simple: just insert a 16mm film reel inside the unit, and mount it under the
control panel. Once in position, the camera remains locked to prevent the
possibility of accidental film exposure. |
 |
|
Convenient Microfilmer Features
Easy operation of microfilming functions is
supported by three handy control panel features. A film remaining indicator
shows how much microfilm is left on the current reel, and begins blinking to
warn when the end of the reel is near. The Space/Trailer key lets you enter a
space between images at any point on the reel. And, to shift the DR-5060F into
its backup microfilming mode, just press the Backup key. |
 |
|
Patch Code Detector
The DR-5060F can be customized to detect Patch
Codes inserted into the document stack. Patch Codes provide a useful way to
automatically separate files among the scanned image data, the microfilmed
images, or both. |
 |
|
Endorser ED600
The optional ED600 prints endorsements on the back of documents after they
Acceptable document sizes range from business cards to 11" x have been
scanned by the DR-5060F. It features a movable stamp that allows exact placement
of dates and other information on documents ranging from bank checks to
LTR/A4-size pages. |
 |
|
Imprinter 5000
Located inside the DR-5060F, the Imprinter 5000
option uses an inkjet cartridge to print information on the front of each
document as it passes through the machine. Possible information types include
serial numbers and user-specified messages, and the information can also be
electronically imprinted on the corresponding image data. |
|
Barcode Decoder 5000
Using this option, the DR-5060F reads barcodes
printed on scanned documents and automatically indexes their image data with
this information. Compatible formats include UPC, EAN/JAN, CODABAR, Code39,
Code128, and ITF. |
