DR-3080CII

Boost your office’s document scanning efficiency with the DR-3080CII, the compact unit offering a wealth of versatile features. This model has fast simplex and duplex scanning, high-precision document feeding, and the Scan Panel for easy operation. The DR-3080CII also provides 24-bit color scanning.

FEATURES

Diverse scanning mode for various applications

The DR-3080CII provides diverse scanning options so that you can create the image files which best match your needs. Standard text documents can be scanned in Black & White (Binary) mode at speeds of up to 40ppm (or 80 image per minute when duplexing). If your document contains photos, Error Diffusion or 256-level Grayscale mode deliver better results. Furthermore, the DR-3080CII offers a 24-bit Color mode for either simplex or duplex scanning. Innovative technology promotes fast throughput whether you're scanning in color or grayscale.

Clear, legible data through Advanced Text Enhancement

When it comes to scanning for document management purposes, nothing is more essential than making sure that your image files can be easily read by others. To this end, the DR-3080CII features Advanced Text Enhancement for optimizing black and white images. Advanced Text Enhancement significantly improves the quality of image files derived under poor conditions, such as from documents with colored backgrounds, with light colored lettering, or documents filled out in pencil.

Color Dropout function for improved OCR

The convenient Color Dropout function enables the DR-3080CII to remove color elements-for example, red lines or block areas-printed on your document. By preparing data in this way, your image files become more amenable to accurate text conversion when they are used with optical character recognition (OCR) software. The Color Dropout function has three settings (red, green, and blue), and is able to remove color from both sides of the page.

Efficient scanning of one-sided and two-sided documents

Suppose you wish to scan a stack comprised of one-sided as well as two-sided documents. If you use a conventional scanner, the resulting image file will include a number of blank images (corresponding to the reverse sides of one-sided documents). With the DR-3080CII, however, you can avoid this kind of wasteful data, and instead produce an image file of optimum file size. The Skip Blank Page function detects any blank pages which have been scanned and then automatically discards this data.

Folio scanning for larger documents

The Folio function gives you a great way to handle larger documents (between B4 and A3 sizes). You simply fold your document in half and feed it into the scanner. The DR-3080CII will then scan both sides of the folded document and combine the two sides into a single image.

The convenient Scan Panel and Prescan function

Ease of operation is further supported by these two handy software tools. The Scan Panel is a virtual control panel that can be readily accessed even when different application programs are used to obtain image files from the scanner. Through the Scan Panel, you can adjust brightness and contrast, separate batches, and call up the Prescan function. The Prescan function allows you scan the first page of your stack and then adjust image quality for the entire stack, saving you the trouble of having to rescan any of the pages and thus making it easier to complete your task.

Registration of up to 20 sets of user preferences

Various customized settings can be made through the scanners’ driver software. Thanks to this feature, the scanners can be set up beforehand to handle a certain type of document, and users can then instantly call up these settings each time documents of that type need to be scanned. This can be done for as many as 20 different document types, making the scanners more accessible to a wider range of users. Scan settings are set using the bundled ISIS/TWAIN Driver software, which also provides access to a large collection of additional functions.
