SCANNING EFFICIENCY AND POWER Exceptionally compact With a footprint of less than 30 x 10 cm (11.7 x 3.9 in.), the DR-2050C is one of the smallest document scanners available, and will fit on just about any desktop or counter space. The key to its size is a compact sensor unit, which has the further benefits of low power consumption and zero warm-up time.
Quick & high-quality scanning The DR-2050C scans A4/LTR-size documents at speeds of up to 20 pages per minute, or 38 images per minute in duplex mode (200 dpi). Best of all, grayscale images can be scanned at the same speeds as binary (black & white) ones. This scanner also offers top-class image resolution: up to 600 dpi in binary, grayscale, or 24-bit color.
Reliable paper feeding Smooth feeding is essential to efficient scanning. Thanks to its advanced roller mechanism, the DR-2050C reliably feeds each page in a batch, avoiding troublesome double feeds that slow users down. What's more, feeding can be easily adjusted to handle thin or thick paper, small items such as name cards, and multi-sheet forms printed on carbonless paper.
FUNCTIONS PRODUCTIVITY-BOOSTING FUNCTIONS Programmable "one-touch" Job button One-touch Job button realizes a quick execution of scanning job assigned to the button. A series of scanning operation, such as scanning an order form in A4 size, 200dpi with PDF format and saving the image to a specified folder, can be done with a simple touch of the Job button.
The DR-2050C can be set to automatically detect page size, correct skewed images, delete blank pages, and even rotate images that are upside down. And for instant access to your most frequently used scan settings, you can resister up to 100 sets of user preferences that are made available from a pull-down menu. Adjust image quality with ease
With Prescan, you scan one
page and then adjust brightness and contrast for the entire batch.
Remove colors for better OCR. To promote better results with OCR applications, the DR-2050C has a color dropout feature that removes colors printed on your document from the image file. Red, green, or blue can be eliminated.
Clear, legible date from hard-to-scan documents. Several things can lead to illegible image files, such as color backgrounds, light-colored lettering, or pencil writing. Text Enhancement mode overcomes these obstacles by detecting where the letters on a page are, and emphasizing them appropriately.
If you need to
scan a larger document up to A3/11" x 17" in size, simply fold
it in half and use Folio Mode.

Easy Maintenance To maintain optimal feeding precision and image quality, Canon recommends users to periodically replace the scanner's rollers. Thanks to the DR-2050C's user-friendly design, you can replace the rollers yourself at your own convenience using the Exchange Roller Kit (sold separately)―no service technician required.
